NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD. 5 – CAR SET. CENTRAL GROVE OBSERVATION CAR. These like new, excellent 70′ Madison style passenger cars were made in 1997 by MTH Electric Trains and represents the New York Central Railroad. They come with the manufacturers original storage box that has a Styrofoam insert that protect them during transit and when not in use. This original storage box is in pristine condition. There are no scratches, scrapes or rubs anywhere on any catr and they have very little track time. They have been well maintained by their previous owner. Some of the features of these cars are. Die-cast metal 6-wheel trucks. Fast angle metal wheels. Needle point metal axles. Overhead interior lighting (except baggage car). Sliding Baggage car doors. This New York Central passenger set was in the 1996 Fall/Winter Premier catalog. This was one of the first passenger sets MTH issued. Fun fact: MTH continued the tradition of calling Heavyweights “Madisons” based on Lionel’s 1940s Heavyweight model, one of which was named “Madison”. It stuck to the whole style!
