KATO N Scale 106-013 and 106-023 NYC Smooth Side Passenger 6-Car and 4-Car Sets

Here are 10 cars in all – KATO N Scale 106-013 and 106-023 NYC Smooth Side Passenger 6-Car and 4-Car Sets. These two sets date back to the early 90s and from reading trainweb (see below) I understand that they were based on ACF cars for the Union Pacific. In there youll see that at least the observation car of these sets is close to what the NYC ran back in the day. Condition is listed as C-7 because Id call these cars runners that have the small plastic detail parts already installed. The 6-car set comprises the car types that came in it originally. The asterix seen above means that; however, the 4-Car set, 106-023, has a second coach car instead of the baggage car that came originally in that set. So you can see from the photos, which are part of my description, that there two coaches and two sleepers in that set instead of one coach, one baggage and 2 sleepers. Look carefully at the photos and you can see that I have shown both sides of every car for you. The full consist included here is. 1 baggage (2nd baggage omitted). 3 coaches (one of these is an extra, in place of the omitted baggage car). 10 cars in all. When new, that train had no full baggage cars or coaches – Pullman only. The first car looked like the included Kato RPO but I think it was actually a baggage-dormitory for the crew? Obviously, we have not yet seen those cars but my understanding is that they are in the same paint scheme as these cars – the post war 2-tone gray scheme. So you might be able to augment that consist of prototypical cars with a few of these older Kato releases if the paint jobs really do end up matching. Shock absorber construction for smooth and reliable operation. Fully detailed interiors can be lit with the Kato interior lighting kit. Re-live some great moments in history in miniature with Katos Broadway Limited pulled by the GG1 and EMD E8A locomotives. The Broadway Limited offered the finest in luxury travel between New York and Chicago. You had a choice of six types of private rooms ranging from cozy Roomette to luxurious Master Room with a private bath and shower. It also had an Observation-Lounge and Club-Lounge cars with game tables, magazines and refreshment buffets and a Master Dining Car that served food in the traditional Broadway Limited manner.
