Personal notes: A used set that can use a small amount of cleaning and fixing up but runs! Perfect for someone who just wants a start in the hobby but doesn’t wanna shell out 300 bucks for their first passenger train! This is a VERY reasonable option and a darn good looking one too! So today we have our newest batch of spares to sell! As Before – I’m offloading my spares from my personal collection – that either don’t fit in with my others or is a duplicate or triplicate of something I don’t really need or want anymore and is just sitting there in a literal pile of trains gathering dust. And as usual I need the cash a lot more than a room full of spares! Waste not- want not! Plus I know someone out there will treasure these! And that delights me! This being my way of spreading the wealth and giving someone else a chance to own neat stuff! Just bear in mind thought. So please look it over for any defects I may have missed! That said though I have inspected the item myself and will note any damage I find. And of course I’ll take the time to do another quick inspection before sending and if it needs lube or anything I will of course add some as part of the testing I do. Please be patient with my little shop as I’m not as young as I used to be and stuff for me takes a little time these days especially with all my other orders and work. So all that said – on to the items! Today’s offering. Type: Smooth sided Lightweight Passenger cars With PA-1 Alco Diesel. Small chip on diner roof corner. 1 coupler on diner needs to be replaced. Baggage car needs its truck screws tightened. Front coupler on Diesel is missing. Front of Diesel is a dirty, don’t wanna risk scratching it so it will need cleaning. Couplers on loco and end car are different, got any bread wire?

Brand New Never Open. On June 29, 1947, the Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul and Pacific Railroad’s (Milwaukee Road) inaugurated its streamlined flagship “Olympian Hiawatha” on a 43-hour, 30-minute schedule between Chicago and the Pacific Northwest. The Olympian Hiawatha ran through scenic Idaho, Montana’s Bitterroot Mountains and Washington’s Cascade range. This was advertised as being a speedliner. The railroad contracted industrial designer Brooks Stevens to design the train consist, which included some unique and signature cars of the Milwaukee Road. In 1952, the first full-length “Super Dome” cars were added, which included 68 dome seats and 28 lounge seats. The dome area featured seats positioned lengthwise, facing the 625 square foot double-pane windows – ideal for sightseeing yet insulated for harsh weather. The Olympian Hiawatha was a favorite of many travelers during the post-war travel boom and continued to operate into 1961. In 1955 change came to the train in the form of its color scheme. The Milwaukee Road reached an agreement with Union Pacific to host its trains between Omaha and Chicago. In the process, the railroad adopted its Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray “Streamliner” scheme. The new scheme was economical to apply and maintain, so Milwaukee adopted it for passenger locos and cars systemwide. This Olympian Hiawatha set has all the signature cars of this luxurious streamliner. Cars feature injection-molded bodies, interior seats, metal wheels for use on Code 55 and larger rail, and Kato magnetic knuckle couplers. The nine-car Kato Olympian Hiawatha includes the following Baggage-Dormitory #1309, 48-Seat Coach #520, 48-Seat Coach #529, Super Dome Lounge #55, Diner #119, 14-Section Touralux Sleeper “Mount Spokane” #5746, 10-6 Sleeper “Lake Coeur D’Alene” #2, 10-6 Sleeper “Lake Nashotah” #9, “Skytop” Lounge-Observation “Gold Creek” #16.
