HO gauge Amtrak locomotive and passenger car set of 4 cars (lead engine/powered car, observation car, middle car, and last car) from LIFE LIKE and other manufacturers. There are missing or repaired marks on 4 ladders and repaired marks on the front light. Middle car (9541) 1 car: Interior light illuminates (may not light up due to contact with rotating parts of the wheels). Manufactured by LIFE LIKE; wheels rotate. The condition is relatively clean, but there is age-related deterioration, some paint peeling, scratches, rust on metal parts, and repair marks. There may be missing parts, but the final shape is unknown and cannot be determined. Overall size: Approximately 10.63 inches long, 1.57 inches wide, and 1.97 inches high. The set is notable for being a piece of model train history and is not an authentic set of equipment used by the actual Metra commuter rail service in Chicago. All sets were known for disintegrating/crumbling couplers on all 4 cars. The cars are like new, the original box shows signs of shelf wear and is in poor condition.
