A very nice 100% original and complete early Lionel Prewar No. 40 Standard Gauge 3 Car Passenger Set with Electric Outline Loco in a nice original set box to include clean track. This set has seen very little run time. It has been track tested and runs and tracks great in both directions. The set includes a factory maroon 38 (0-4-0) NYC Electric Outline Loco accompanied by 2 Orange #35 pullmans and a #36 Observation. The loco is dent and rust free but does have flaking on roof and loco ends as typical of Maroon 38s which are factory repaints over olive paint. This loco has much less flaking of the maroon paint than commonly seen. The loco had all original wiring and again, shows little run time. The super desirable orange coaches are early corporation cars with wooden air tanks and hook couplers. The cars are perfectly matched in color are100% original and complete and roll and track great. Overall a very desirable early set in boxed collector condition. Please study the 12 enlargeable pictures for complete details. I have more pictures of the set box and a few more of the components.
