LIONEL STANDARD Ga. #40 ELECTRIC OUTLINE THREE CAR PASSENGER SET/OB circa 1919

A very nice 100% original and complete early Lionel Prewar No. 40 Standard Gauge 3 Car Passenger Set with Electric Outline Loco in a nice original set box to include clean track. This set has seen very little run time. It has been track tested and runs and tracks great in both directions. The set includes a factory maroon 38 (0-4-0) NYC Electric Outline Loco accompanied by 2 Orange #35 pullmans and a #36 Observation. The loco is dent and rust free but does have flaking on roof and loco ends as typical of Maroon 38s which are factory repaints over olive paint. This loco has much less flaking of the maroon paint than commonly seen. The loco had all original wiring and again, shows little run time. The super desirable orange coaches are early corporation cars with wooden air tanks and hook couplers. The cars are perfectly matched in color are100% original and complete and roll and track great. Overall a very desirable early set in boxed collector condition. Please study the 12 enlargeable pictures for complete details. I have more pictures of the set box and a few more of the components. Lionel Standard Gauge 3 Car Stephen Girard Passenger Car Set, 424 Pullman Liberty Bell, 425 Pullman Stephen Girard, 426 Observation Coral Isle. Please study the photos carefully. There are many paint chips and scratches also a lot of touch up paint on the light green done with a color that doesn’t quite match. They still display well and you sure wouldn’t need to be afraid to run them on your layout. 4 of the little blue transom windows are missing on the Stephen Girard car. All doors, grab bars and steps are present. Interior lighting works in all 3 cars as does the light above the observation platform. All in all a nice solid set. Perhaps a good candidate for repaint or to enjoy as they are, proudly showing their age and wear. Williams 25th Anniversary TCA Offering. 408 Locomotive with #418 Parlor, #419 Combine & #490 Observation. According to the plaque that comes with the set it is 1 of 150 made (pictured). This is definitely one of the neater offerings I have come across. I actually have the original advertisement (not pictured, but I will include) for this set that I got years ago. As per the advertisement this set comes with the cars completely assembled with all interiors in place. Easy assembly of the trucks and interior lights remain. The locomotive has the base and cow catcher attached (not sure if it came that way). There is a bag of parts (in-front of engine next to plaque in first picture). This set shows a wheel assembly in the instructions, but I do not have any wheel assembly for this offering. I only have what is pictured. The engine has no motor or wheels, just the shell, chassis and pictured parts. Full Interior Detail Including Parlor Chairs and Lighting. Deluxe Cars with Six Wheel Trucks. Cars Named After Famous Manufacturers. Engine w/ Parts but NO Motor or Wheel Assembly. This could be a fun project or neat collectable as I’m sure most were probably assembled. I think this is a harder item to locate in this unbuilt condition and it’s the first I ever came across. Please review the pictures. I have no issue offering this return option for this item, but it must be in this unbuilt condition exactly as it was received. Let me know if you have any questions.
