LGB 20534 MF Marshall Field’s 1986 Passenger Set. Condition is excellent+, The engine traction tire and track pickups look almost new. This is a classic, rare, dated (1986) G gauge vintage train set. There were only 850 of these made for Exclusive Marshall Field’s distribution at Christmas. These remarkable trains are durable, easy to get on the tracks (which are brass for indoor and outdoor use), reliable, and fun to play with. High quality West German manufacture (not China). The doors open and latch closed using the door handles on both ends of the passenger cars. The roofs are removable to expose the seats inside the car. The engine has both forward and reverse lights as well as a socket on the rear to power car lights or a sound car. A circle of 12 curved tracks included along with 4 people. This is a well made and solidly constructed set. Please let me know if you do not need the track. If you do not specify, I will assume you want everything shown. Do not rely on the pricing of previous sets, as that may represent only the price of partial sets, not the set shown here. This train is packaged in a traditional red window box (see pictures) and is one of the rarer LGB sets in my collection. Marshall Fields was a large department store in Chicago similar to Macy’s. I remember this set on display as part of their Christmas show cases. Many families in Chicago had brunch by the Big Tree in the Walnut room and waited to see Santa.
