Lionel 6-8801 Blue Comet 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive Set W / 6 Passenger Cars, This set is in amazing shape with all original boxes in C-8 to C-9 condition. The engine is in amazing shape, the blue paint really POPS with color, has almost no run time, was bench tested and it smoked great and the tender speaker worked and so did the whistle. There is a small rub mark on the engine shell that must have happened from the factory, which can be seen in the last picture. All the passenger cars are also in amazing shape with amazing paint and little to no run time on all the passenger cars. All the boxes have some form of shelf ware from sitting around for over 40 years, all the box flaps are intact and the engine box has a tear on one flap that has been retaped. Please see picture for more details as this is an amazing set that would be a great addition to anyone’s collection. I can not test it because my test bench is in storage right now due to a move. However looking at the underside I can not imagine this set spent much time on the track. Please look at the detailed. The only complaint I haven is that the boxes are not cleaner. They are a little dirty on the ends of the cars and the front of the engine box. There are no tears and all the flaps are there. ALSO includes is the Add-On Car from 1987 #19001 Dining. Transformer controlled forward, neutral and reverse operation. Electronic Sound of Steam. 4-wheel trucks on the tender. Gauge: Traditional O Gauge. Measures 13 in length (each). Used Condition, set appears to have been operated a lot. Track tested, runs fine, & sound of steam works. The board inside the tender was secured with new double-back sticky foam since original has deteriorated. The locomotive appearance has some areas of dirty stains that will clean up with patience. The lower half of the die-cast body has numerous paint chips which is normal on most these locomotives. Cars all tested for lights and work. Bodies has some areas of dust/dirt that can clean up. Transformer controlled forward, neutral and reverse operation. Electronic Sound of Steam. 4-wheel trucks on the tender. Gauge: Traditional O Gauge. Measures 13 in length (each). Used Condition, set has been operated. Track tested, runs fine, & sound of steam works. The body has some minor marks here & there and the trailing truck has rust on the plate. The entire truck could be replaced. Cars all tested for lights and work. Bodies has some areas of dust/dirt that can clean up. Original boxes has moderate wear with some edge tears. Royal Prussian Railway Company (KPEV) class T 12 Steam Tank Locomotive. All3 driving axles powered, finely detailed rods and valve gear, imitation brakes, sand pipes. And rail clearance devices. Warm white LED headlights. Loco has a destination sign on the front. Large buffer plates, standard coupler at front and back of loco, finely detailed lettering and paintwork. Length over buffers 55mm.
